Cubby (kubby.space) saves links from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest into folders so you can find and watch them again. This page explains what Cubby stores, why, and who else handles it. It covers the website, the Mac app and the Cubby browser extension.
What we store
- Your account. Your name, email address and profile picture, and which sign-in you used (email and password, Google, X or Pinterest). Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
- What you save. The links you save, the folders you put them in, and each link's title, creator name and cover image, taken from the platform's public page or oEmbed endpoint.
- Search data. If search inside clips is turned on, a transcript of what is said in each saved video and a numeric summary of it ("embedding") so the library can be searched by meaning.
- Basic logs. Your hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, time) for security and debugging.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or use it for anything other than running Cubby.
The browser extension
The extension only acts when you click its button, press its shortcut or choose one of its menu items.
- Saving: it sends the address of the page or link you chose to your Cubby library.
- Importing a saved list: on a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Pinterest page you are viewing, it reads the video and pin links already shown on that page. It makes no requests of its own to those sites and changes nothing in your accounts there. The list goes to Cubby's import screen in the side panel, and nothing is uploaded until you press Import.
- It doesn't read pages you haven't acted on, doesn't track your browsing, and has no analytics. The request it hands to the side panel is kept in the browser's session storage and deleted once delivered.
- The side panel shows your library from kubby.space, so you are signed in there just as in a normal tab.
Who else handles your data
Cubby uses these services to run. Each only gets what it needs:
- Vercel hosts the website and app.
- Neon hosts the database where your account and library are stored.
- Resend sends account emails (verification, password reset).
- Supadata receives the addresses of saved videos to return their transcripts.
- Voyage AI receives transcripts, titles and search text to create embeddings.
- Google, X and Pinterest handle sign-in when you choose them.
- Polar handles payments if you subscribe. Cubby never sees your card details.
- TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest are asked for public details (title, creator, cover) of links you save.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete any saved link or folder at any time. Deleting your account (Settings → Account) removes your account, library, transcripts and embeddings from the database.
